Chapter History
Zeta Tau Alpha was originally founded in 1898 by nine determined and independent women in Farmville, Virginia. Zeta has grown steadily ever since to include 238 chapters nationwide. The Eta Iota Chapter was chartered at Valdosta State University on May 22nd, 1971. The sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha are an outstanding group of women who bring their diverse strengths together to form a bond treasured by all. Zeta allows women to explore what life has to offer while giving them support and friendship that will last a lifetime. Our sisterhood now includes over 70 active members each semester. While we have many active members at the collegiate level, the Eta Iota chapter at Valdosta State University also prides themselves on the strong relationship with their alumnae in this area. We stay active and do events with over 35 members of our area's alumna chapter! Zeta Tau Alpha is not just four years.... it's for life!
